After having returned to its pre-pandemic levels during the 3th quarter, that is to say much earlier than expected, the French economy experienced an increase in activity in November, in industry as well as in services and construction. The situation remains unstable, however, with in particular the continuing supply difficulties and labour shortages in certain sectors, reports the Banque de France in its monthly review of business conditions. Added to the increase in the prices of raw materials, these factors contribute to an increase in selling prices in industry and construction.
Road transport prices are also on the rise, with a month-on-month growth of 1.0% in France for November, according to the Upply Freight Index (UFI Road France). This increase had been expected for several reasons: entry into the end-of-year peak season, difficulties in recruiting drivers and rising costs.

Since several months, despite the pressure on costs, transport prices have not taken off. There was a form of glass ceiling situated between € 1.43 and € 1.44 per kilometer driven. In November, the momentum marked a real change, with a strong upward inflection.
